Is there a difference between locally fabricated vs European fabricated Schüco?
It’s critical to understand that not all Schüco is built the same. European fabrication stays true to the original specifications, hardware and most importantly, fabrication standards. Not only do European components stand head-and-shoulders above their North American counterparts- European expertise, production guidelines, and fabrication standards cannot be matched.
What’s the difference between double and triple pane windows? Are they worth it in Southwest Ontario?
Triple pane windows introduce a second Low-E coating to your system, which helps to regulate the thermal energy passing through your glass. In the winter it helps to stop heat escaping, and in the summer it helps to prevent the sun’s energy from heating up your home. Thus, all four seasons, you will see heating and cooling costs dramatically decrease. European high performance glass is much more available, meaning that the upfront cost to make this upgrade is within reach for almost every homeowners.
Are Schüco systems suitable for passive house or high-performance projects?
Yes. We offer a full range of PHIUS certified and high performance systems for projects targeting passive house certifications.
Can your systems accommodate very large window sizes or big patio doors?
This is one of the greatest strengths of European aluminum. Large openings, oversized entrance doors, corner windows, you name it, our systems are engineered for your most ambitious designs. Regardless of how large your openings are you can comfortably rely on our offerings to stand the test of time all while delivering exceptional energy efficiency.
